On my feet, I’m wearing brown leather Timberland boots, with white soles. These boots are durable enough for hiking through the forest, but the white soles means I can still wear them on the boat. Remember I’m staying on a private island, so you can only get there by boats. There are literally no roads, even on the island. They’re also waterproof, which really came in handy when I was putting the kayaks into the water. I carried the kayak down from the boat house and stepped right into the water from the rocky shore with no worries about cutting my feet to loosing my balance in sandals.
